a reflection of Joan's personality and lifestyle.

Born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Joan went on to obtain her degree in Art Education from the University of Alabama. Also earning her degree as a Registered Nurse, she settled in Vestavia Hills (a suburb of Birmingham) where she splits her time between her art and working part time in the Division of Pediatrics Cardiology at UAB Hospital.

Her talent is displayed in art shows and festivals around the Southeast United States.

Joan's unique and skillful use of the palette knife creates impressionistic paintings that are both multidimensional and stylish. The abstract strokes can be interpreted in a number of ways yet each painting has a clear story.
